Poster $15 (3 types)
We are selling posters at the gallery for $15, 70 percent of the proceeds will be delivered to Yamamoto in person and used to help the people still living in the temporary shelter and to buy school materials for damaged schools. All the money placed in a donation box will be donated.
TALK SHOW
Our project leader Munemasa Takahashi and our vice chairman and also a resident of Yamamoto, Kazuto Hoshi will be doing talk shows on March10th.
Mr. Takahashi started to volunteer to wash and digitize the photographs after he found out about the project on twitter. Mr. Hoshi began to support temporary housings and strawberry farmers after his hometown was destroyed by the tsunami. Mr. Takahashi will share with us his experience of volunteering in washing family photographs and reuniting them with their owners and Mr. Hoshi will share with us how his devastated hometown and its people are coping a year after the disaster.
Dates:

2 sessions each lasting about 45 minutes

[Muneamasa Takahashi}
Munemasa, a freelance photographer, was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1980. His work has featured in many magazines, books, and commercials. He graduated from the Nippon Photography Institute in 2001. In 2002, he received the Excellent Photographer Award in "25th New Cosmos of Photography" by Canon. He held a solo exhibition "Hinterland" in Tokyo. In 2008, he received a littlemore Prize at the first littlemore BECCKS Photo Contest organized by littlemore and BECCKS Publishing. He published a book of his photos, "SKYFISH" from AKAAKA ART PUBLISHING, Inc. and in 2010, held a Solo Exhibition "SKYFISH" at AKAAKA Publishing in Tokyo.

 

[Kazuto Hoshi]
Kazuto was born in Yamamoto , Miyagi Prefecture in 1979. He works at a travel agent as a tour conductor and a marketing staff and at the same time serves as a chairman and a director-general of Yurimiyagi, the NPO which is working to create a barrier-free community for the handicapped. After the 3.11 North East Japan disaster, he joined a volunteer group to wash and return photographs and has been supporting the residents of temporary housings and farmers who lost their farms. He is a vice president of Japan Society Information emergency team which led the Memory Salvage Project and a vice president of Lost & Found Project.
